Position Description

Located in the Markham Valley, Morobe Province.  Rumion Limited is PNG's largest pig farm with around 12,500 head. Rumion  is the major supplier to an associated company 'Prima Smallgoods'. In addition to the piggery, Rumion grows corn (maize) for stockfeed, operates its own feedmill and has a 3,500 heads beef herd.

This job is suited for people who would enjoy working and living in a remote, agricultural rural setting and have the ability to maintain professional business standards within the team. On-site camp style accomodation is provided, as with a motor vehicle for work use. 

The role reports directly to the Financial Controller and only CPA qualified candidates will be accepted.

Job Scope
The successful applicant will be responsible for effectively supervising the daily activities in the Accounting & Administration Department.

Main Duties & Responsibilities: 
1. Preparation and analysis of financial statements, budgets/forecasts in line with company reporting timeframes
2. Effective management of company’s cash flow and maintaining the overdraft facility as per company standard.
3. Managing the daily operations of Accounting and Admin Section including personnel management (hiring, training and development)
4. Responsible for the implementation of Internal controls in safe-guarding company assets.
5. Manage payroll in an effective and efficient manner.

Knowledge and Experience 
1. Degree in Accounting or related Finance discipline.
2. Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar Finance and Administration role with at least 3 years of that in supervisory or managerial capacity.
3. Working knowledge in using computerized Accounting systems, preferably ACCPAC for Windows
4. Payroll processing – Frontier CHRIS21 or similar
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
6. Member of CPAPNG is essential.
7. Understanding of PNG Labour & Employment Laws would be an advantage.

Work Environment 
Daily movement and assisting staff at work stations as well as being indoors and desk-bound (seated) for long periods of time. Extended use of a desktop computer/keyboard. Monthly domestic air travel for meetings in Port Moresby. Ability to drive a manual and/or automatic transmission vehicle with a valid Class 1 driver's license.

Other Information
Working hours - Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm and 8am to 12pm on one fortnightly Saturday. Working on public holidays, after hours as and when the need arises. Public Holiday & Overtime pay is paid accordingly.
Location – Markham Valley, Morobe Province.
Training - In recognition of your contribution, we in turn will provide on-the-job training as well as soft skill training at the Kenmore Training Centre to advance your workplace professional development as required.
Restrictions - This occupation is open to PNG citizens and non-citizens.
Remuneration - Will be commensurate to qualifications, relevant licences and experience.
Probation - A three (3) month probationary period will be undertaken to ascertain the suitability of the candidate before a full-time position is appointed.
